On December 22, 2018, BGCGW’s Women’s Leadership Group (WLG) hosted the 2nd Annual Holiday Sing at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Art’s Terrace Theater. Under the direction of BGCGW Regional Arts Director, Tony Small, our kids had the exciting opportunity to perform alongside such notable artists as Larry Braggs, lead singer of the Temptations; Joe Coleman, former lead singer of the The Platters; and, Mrs. Nancy Peery Marriott, lyric soprano.  The “sold out” crowd of 450 guests included supporters, family, friends, and members of the community.

Holiday Sing was a multi-genre celebration of holiday traditions. It included classics with a twist as well as original compositions accompanied by a chamber orchestra. Renowned artists performed alongside our Club kids to promote arts instruction and programming at BGCGW. Thanks to the WLG, our kids are engaged in numerous, creative outlets that provide increased exposure to the cultural arts. “It’s such a special opportunity for our Club members to perform on the Kennedy Center stage,” shared WLG Founder & Chairman, Patty Perkins Andringa, “This program is helping to provide music education for our kids which they don’t get in school.”

This year, the WLG celebrates its 20th Anniversary! Be sure to put Saturday, December 21, 2019 on your calendar when the 3rd Annual Holiday Sing will be held at the Kennedy Center Concert Hall! Stay tuned for more information.
