In 1997, the General Heiser Club opened in a renovated building formerly the American Legion Hall. The Club currently serves the south-eastern region of Prince William County and the Town of Dumfries.
In 2008, the General Heiser Club faced the challenge of declining member enrollments resulting in a downsize of the Club. These challenges caused the Club to reduce operations in the facility and become a “rental only” building, which housed rental programs such as the Crossroads Presbyterian Church and the Make the Future program.
While the facility was closed to youth, the programs never stopped. The General Heiser Club moved to what was known as the “Hub & Spoke Model” of programming. The Club opened up several sites which operated directly with-in schools in Prince William County and which fell under the management of the staff of the General Heiser Club.
The Clubs continued to operate the Hub & Spoke model until the summer of 2012. Today, the Club serves over 900 members and many more served through community outreach.
