In this spotlight, we’re highlighting one of our outstanding VIPs, Jasmine Culver, or Ms. Jas, whose passion and dedication are making a lasting impact on the youth at Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington (BGCGW). STEM Director at BGCGW since March 2023, Ms. Jas is a graduate of Mary Baldwin University and previously worked as a STEM technologist at Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA).

One of her major accomplishments was creating BGCGW’s first STEAM X Fest in 2024, where youth assembled drones and explored AI Art. Currently, she’s leading the Sphero x Mazemakers STEM Competition, which challenges youth to use Sphero robots to navigate maze-like courses, sparking creativity and problem-solving skills.

Ms. Jas is also spearheading the Science Sports campaign, helping kids understand the biology of exercise, including muscle function and the cardiovascular system. Despite the challenge of managing clubs located hours apart, she drives tirelessly to ensure every club has the support it needs. Her dedication to inspiring young minds is at the heart of everything she does.
