“I enjoy learning to cook different types of food,” 11 year-old Culmore Club member Rachel shared her excitement for the newly renovated Culmore Club Kitchen. On March 12, BGCGW celebrated the unveiling of the complete kitchen renovation with a ribbon cutting ceremony in front of board members and esteemed guests. BGCGW President and CEO Gabrielle Webster expressed appreciation and thanks for our corporate partners and highlighted Ralph Crozier, a BGCGW Champion who leads in-kind capital projects, who was the driving force behind the completion of this project. Ralph spoke with passion about his excitement for the kids being able to utilize the remodel.

Thanks to our generous donors at Balfour Beatty, Bozzuto, Corenic, DBI, Lowe, and Regional Electrical Contractors for making the complete kitchen renovation possible. The kitchen now features new, top of the line appliances and products, new counters and cabinets. Culmore’s culinary program has been supported and prepared for the renovated space with new supplies and food thanks to our sponsors at Nestle, Mighty Meals and Osteria, Marzano.

After the ribbon was cut, guests had the opportunity to see the renovation, tour Culmore, and enjoy some delicious food prepared by our Culmore club chefs! Our young chefs excitedly served generous portions of ceviche and a toasted granola yogurt parfait and walked guests through their favorite parts of the renovated kitchen.

BGCGW is appreciative of the community support and commitment to providing our Club members with experiences like this culinary program. More than 80% of the members at Culmore receive free school lunches, and this program provides an exciting opportunity for the youth we serve to develop healthy habits.
