From her years as a Club kid to leading impactful community initiatives, Abigail has consistently embraced the values she learned at Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington. As the 2023 Southeast Regional Youth of the Year, and now a sophomore at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), she continues to inspire others with her drive and dedication. She embodies entrepreneurship, courage, intelligence, and persistence.
As an Information Systems major, she is passionate about using technology, business, and social impact to drive change. In addition to her studies, Abigail is a community engagement research analyst at VCU—she fosters positive relationships between Richmond’s communities and the university, ensuring access to resources and opportunities. Abigail founded Abby’s Formula for Impact, leading community service projects and mentorship for youth. Her work earned her the 2025 Board of Visitors Scholarship at VCU.
Reflecting on her time at BGCGW, Abigail says: “My Club taught me the importance of the three R’s: Resources, Refuge, and Relationships. Resources mean utilizing my network and opportunities to grow. Refuge is creating spaces where people feel included and supported. Relationships remind me to value the connections I make and approach them with positive intentions.”
