#STEAMtheBlock Party – Saturday, June 18th, Richard England Clubhouse 14, 11am-4pm This party fosters connections between schools, community organizations and parents in order to create a platform for our teens (ages 13-18) to display their talents. STEAM is BGCGW’s focus on using the arts to demystify STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) in practical, hands-on ways. Our corporate partners will also have the opportunity to provide STEAM-themed workshops and activities on-site. 55TH Annual Roll Call Congressional Baseball Game – Thursday, June 23rd, Nationals Park, Washington, DC, 7:05 p.m. Since 1909 the Congressional Baseball Game has been the only annual partisan showdown beloved by all and enjoyed by thousands. The annual event benefits Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington, the Washington Literacy Council and Washington Nationals Dream Foundation. 5th Annual “Lead, Don’t Follow” Teen Retreat– June 10th-12th, George Mason University, Fairfax, Virginia. The “Lead, Don’t Follow” Teen Leadership program provides youth who have proven to be leaders in the classroom and within the community with opportunities to gain the necessary life skills related to “manhood”, peer to peer relations while fostering positive, developmental experiences with adult male role-models.
