unnamed On December 16, 2014, MorganFranklin Consulting led by Board member Shawn Degnan sponsored their second annual sponsored their second annual “Holiday Caring & Sharing Event” with The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington. The event, held at Culmore Character Club Branch in Falls Church, was a tremendous success with twenty-five MorganFranklin employees and members of the Boys & Girls Club Board of Directors volunteering to bring holiday cheer to over 75 club kids, ranging from ages 5 to 18.The event gave MorganFranklin employees the opportunity to help the Club members spend their well-earned “Character Credits” to shop and buy presents for their family members for the holidays, wrap their presents and enjoy refreshments, all while teaching the kids fundamental math, budgeting and financial literacy. “Seeing the joy on the children’s faces as they shopped for gifts for their family members and friends was awe-inspiring. The holidays are a time to give back and seeing firsthand the tremendous impact this event made in the lives of these children touched the hearts of every MorganFranklin employee,” said Jeana Foster, Senior Manager, Corporate Social Responsibility.

unnamed11Culmore’s Character Credit Program teaches the importance of choosing right from wrong, by teaching values to Club members, based on ethics in their communities. The program encourages kids to treat all people fairly, be loyal and stand by your family, friends and country. Think before you act- considering the consequences and to be accountable for your words, actions and attitudes. By demonstrating these acts, the Club members earn “Character Credits” that can be used throughout the year for summer camp and/or to provide gifts to their loved ones during the holiday season.
