Since her days growing up in a small town near Worcester, Massachusetts, Carolyn has been motivated to support the growth and development of young people. While in college, Carolyn developed a passion for youth development while working at her local YMCA. Soon after she accepted a position at a small Boys & Girls Club in Hudson, MA. “I have always loved how we have the opportunity to influence and help kids achieve where they go with their lives,” said Brodeur.
In 2005, Carolyn relocated with her husband Jeffrey to the Washington D.C. region where she began to work for Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington Manassas Branch. Through her work as Education Director, Carolyn engages youth with their community, schools and family. Based at the Hylton Club, Carolyn’s work in coordinating and planning special events and fundraisers like the popular Steak N’ Stake dinner for training staff, and managing vendor and community relations, makes Carolyn valued by all as the “go-to” face of the Clubs.
Additionally, Carolyn has been responsible for driving the Club’s outreach to external partners and Board Members leading to conversations about future Club support.
When asked what she enjoys most about her job, Carolyn responded, “Boys & Girls Clubs offers the whole package. I am confident we are heading in the right direction by offering members the opportunity to play sports, explore nature and learn new technology- lessons that will impact the rest of their lives.”
