On Wednesday, the 9th Annual Youth in Real Estate Awards Luncheon raised $503, 289 – with funds still coming in!
Held at the Capital Hilton Hotel in downtown DC, the luncheon paid tribute to local real estate industry leaders, developers, brokers and architects who have demonstrated a strong commitment to our community through their significant contributions to youth and our clubs. Sponsors included, Clark Enterprises (Presenting Sponsor), Cox Communications (Ribbon Cutting Sponsor), B.F. Saul Companies and Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman, LLP (Substantial Completion Sponsors)
This year we honored three distinguished individuals: Oliver T. Carr III of Carr Properties, Rebecca Owen of Clark Enterprises and Joseph Stettinius of Cassidy Turley.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a BGCGW affair without our members! Each of our honorees was introduced by a member from one of our 12 Clubs. Quienten Bennett from Jelleff introduced Oliver T. Carr III, Zaki Scott from Manassas introduced Rebecca Owen and Michaela Obro-Ababio from our Germantown branch introduced Joe Stettinius.
All of honorees have helped to shape the Washington region’s landscape through their numerous philanthropic activities. This luncheon was just a small way to show our gratitude and appreciation to those being honored.
All in all the afternoon was a success. From the remarks from our honorees to our phenomenal piggy bank centerpieces made by BGCGW youth, there was a great time had by all. We would like to thank the Capital Hilton Hotel not only for their hospitality and service, but for their donation as well! And of course we would like to thank all who attended the event, without your support we would not be able to provide great futures for our youth. We thank you and so do all the kids at BGCGW!
